Anti bird net , Bird netting, bird mesh, Bird Net or anti-bird netting
bird netting is an agricultural protection tool. In terms of materials, it is mainly made of nylon, polyethylene, etc., and we only produce nets made of 100% virgin plastic. Our products are strong, tough, corrosion-resistant, with good UV tolerance, and have a long service life.
The mesh size comes in various specifications, which can be selected according to the specific birds to be protected.
Weaving method : knotted net, knotless net, extruded net.
knotted net:Each mesh is made of knots and is independent of each other, so it has high strength and can withstand large impact forces. Even if some individual mesh holes are broken by birds, the ruptured mesh holes will not affect the surrounding area and will not enlarge the opening.
knotless net: low cost but large spacing, good durability, and high production volume, which can meet the large-scale centralized supply of agricultural security
Material
HDPE (high-density polyethylene):
This is the most commonly used net in horticulture and agriculture. They are lightweight, flexible, and have undergone UV treatment, making them sun resistant and waterproof. It’s an old product with the lowest strength and least durability, and it’s basically going to be phased out
Nylon (PA):
They are very sturdy and lightweight, capable of withstanding traction, tensile and deformation resistance, and elastic, making them suitable for facilities that need to withstand strong winds or sustained weather conditions. Good high temperature resistance. The price is more expensive than polyester
PET:
Service life: 5-7 years, it is an emerging bird proof net material with the same strength as nylon,
But not as strong as specialized high-strength nylon,
difference:
Nylon has the best anti-corrosion and anti-aging properties, but it is not light resistant and may become white, brittle, and wrinkled after a few days of sun exposure
And PET is prone to mold in the rain
Nylon will decrease its fracture strength and elongation by 10% in a wet state,
PET does not
If your farmland is mainly affected by large bird, nylon may be a better choice,
mesh size
- No larger than 1.0 cm×1.0 cm:Fringillidae, Pycnonotidae, Sturnidae
- No larger than 3.0 cm×3.0 cm:Corvidae, Columbidae, Phasianidae, Anatidae
- No larger than 5.0 cm×5.0 cm:Large gulls, stilt family, heron family, cormorant family
Diameter of the network cable – To balance the strength of the cable and minimize the risk of harm to birds, the diameter should be no less than 1.0 mm.
color
- transparent :The use of colorless and transparent netting is prohibited, and we do not sell transparent bird nets
- Black: Carbon black UV inhibitors have excellent sunscreen effect, but have a high false capture rate (about 60%)
- Green: because it is visually easier to blend in, we also call them “garden nets”. Green makes the net perfectly blend with the green of plants, ensuring that the net integrates with the scenery. The impact on the aesthetics of the surrounding environment is minimal
- White: the most common color
- Red and yellow: Birds are more alert to colors such as red and yellow. Therefore, using red or yellow bird-proof nets can deter birds from approaching, achieving a better bird-proof effect.
false capture rate
A survey conducted in Chengdu, China, revealed that the transparent sticky net, due to its difficult-to-distinguish characteristics with the naked eye, had a high false capture rate of 62.71%, followed closely by the black net (58.33%). In contrast, the false capture rate of the highly visible white bird-proof net was only 26.32%, and that of the green net was 30.77%.
Some birds that rely on speed for hunting have little ability to recognize transparent obstacles
If you are particularly concerned about bird protection, we can provide bird-proof nets with UV fluorescent coating
Experimental data indicates that the use of white nylon nets with a diameter greater than 1mm, combined with UV fluorescent coating, can increase the bird identification rate by over 40%. A pilot project shows that the accidental capture rate of such nets can be controlled below 8%
Meanwhile, bird-proof nets will not affect insect pollination because their mesh size is not large enough to block insects
Single yarn? Multi-filament yarn?
Compared to single-wire nets, multifilament nets are less likely to entangle bird feet, thus resulting in a lower bird capture rate
environmental impact
When a bird net reaches the end of its service life, it may become dry and brittle, leading to cracking and damage.
When the netting feels brittle, it indicates that it needs to be replaced.
However, this will not cause direct damage to crops and soil. It will not pose a threat to the quality of organic fruits
